Who we are

Meowtiplication makes times-tables workbooks and the Meowtiplication app for children. You can reach us any time at hello@meowtiplication.com. We are the data controller for anything described in this policy.

What we collect

Nothing. The app has no servers of its own, sends us no data, and contains no analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting software of any kind. We do not know who installed the app, we cannot identify your child, and we cannot see how anyone plays.

What the app stores on your device

So the game can remember where your child left off, the app saves the following in your device's local app storage. This information never leaves the device and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else:

• the nickname typed on the "Create your cat" screen — a first name or made-up name is all the game ever asks for, and it may be left blank;
• the cat's appearance: collar, crown, size and room;
• learning progress: which multiplication facts have been practised, how often each was answered correctly, tests taken and passed, stars, level, number of sessions and total time played;
• settings: sound and music on or off, chosen difficulty, chosen voice, and any daily practice reminder;
• the same set of information for each additional child profile you create.

Reminders

A grown-up can switch on a daily practice reminder in the grown-ups area. Reminders are scheduled by your own device and shown by your own device. No reminder passes through us, and we cannot send you a notification.

Voice and speech

The app can read numbers and encouragement aloud. This uses the speech feature built into your phone or tablet. The app does not use the microphone, does not record anything, and never listens.

The progress report

The grown-ups area can produce a short progress summary. Nothing is sent anywhere unless a grown-up chooses to send it: Copy puts the text on your clipboard, and Send report hands the text to your own email or sharing app, where you decide who receives it. We never receive a copy.

Links that leave the app

The app mentions our printed workbooks, and that link opens Amazon in your browser. That link sits behind a parental gate — a question written in words that a child learning multiplication is not expected to read and answer — so a child cannot reach it alone. Once you are on Amazon, Amazon's own privacy policy applies; we receive nothing back from them.

Children's privacy

Meowtiplication is designed for children, and it is built so there is nothing to protect: we collect no personal information from anyone, of any age. There is no sign-up, no profile that leaves the device, no messaging, no social features, no user-generated content, no advertising and no behavioural profiling. We believe this complies with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and with the GDPR rules on children's data, and we have no plans to change it. Verifiable parental consent is not required, because no personal data is ever collected.

Deleting the information on your device

• Reset progress in the grown-ups area erases the saved progress for the active profile.
• Deleting a child profile removes that profile's data.
• Uninstalling the app removes everything the app has stored.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act give you the right to see, correct, export or delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to show or delete — but if you would like to ask us anything about this, write to hello@meowtiplication.com and we will answer. We never sell or share personal information, because we have none.

This website

meowtiplication.com is a plain website with no advertising or analytics. As with any website, our hosting provider keeps standard technical server logs (such as IP address, date, and the page requested) for security and to keep the site running. We do not use those logs to identify visitors or build profiles.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how the app works, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a future change ever involved collecting personal data — which is not our intention — we would say so clearly and ask for consent first.
